Michael focuses on understanding each client’s unique situation and developing customized strategies to meet their specific goals.
Prior to co-founding Auric Private Wealth, Michael led a team of skilled professionals advising Ultra High Net Worth families as a Senior Vice President at Merrill Private Wealth Management. He also designed and managed customized investment strategies for UHNW investors as a Citi Family Office Advisor. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recognized Michael as a whistleblower under the Dodd-Frank Act for his role in performing original analysis that helped the SEC obtain a $180MM settlement from a major Wall Street bank. Michael began his career in the investment management industry in 1998.
Michael graduated from Duke University with a degree in Economics in 1997. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter in 2003 and obtained the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®), Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) designations.
Michael serves on the board of directors for Team G.E.A.R., a Detroit-based non-profit that aides underprivileged athletic departments by providing equipment and apparel to help all students participate in sports.
Michael lives in Morrison, Colorado, with his wife and two children, where he enjoys hiking, skiing, running marathons, and flying airplanes.
